Innovation-driven product owners know that in order to build a successful product backed by business, designed for users, and with the technology to scale, a careful exercise of balancing all three priorities is required to succeed.

User experience design and testing help to improve many aspects of a product’s usability. However, utilising UX research early in the process is key to uncovering market fit and further product opportunities.

Measuring product consumer desirability helps establish market fit and focus the product growth strategy.

The following are a few of the elements we consider in this process to avoid biases:

  1. Support market assumptions with literature and quantitative evidence.
  2. Identify shared needs in a qualitative user study including innovators, early-adopters, and early-majority.
  3. Collect and measure qualitative evidence from early-adopters supporting product values as opposed to features.
